Riccardo Chiarion

Born in Gorizia on February 17, 1974, he started playing the guitar at the age of 14 and made his professional debut at 18. He studied jazz with Glauco Venier, Pietro Tonolo, Marcello Tonolo, Attilio Zanchi, Riccardo Luppi and Cinzia Gizzi.

He collaborated with many well-known musicians of the International jazz scene: J. Taylor, K. Wheeler, G. Venier, J. Siegel, K. Gesing, M. France, C. Laurence, E. Vloeimans, P. Tonolo, M. Tonolo, N. Le, Y. Goloubev, M. Čepak, J. Pukl, R. Lopatic, M. Loborec, D. Cecchini, P. Birro, R. Emili, A. Kramer, R. Dani, S. Majore, D. Boato, M. Alulli, M. Raja, A. Succi, N. Fazzini, A. Turchet, S. Senni, T. Cappellato, M. Abrams, L. Colussi, S. Senni, R. Brunello, M. Polga, P. Bittolo Bon, A. Zullian, S. Serafini, P. Jus, F. Vattovaz, M. Darpin, F. Santi, N. Bottos and others.

He recorded 4 CDs as a leader: Quiet Stories (solo guitar - Drawnmusic 2020), Waves (featuring: J. Taylor, D. Torto, J. Siegel, A. Turchet and L. Colussi - Caligola Records 2015), Mosaico (featuring: P. Tonolo, A. Turchet and L. Colussi - Caligola Records 2013) and Sirene (featuring: M. Polga, S. Senni, L. Colussi - Caligola Records 2012).

He won or received special prizes in several jazz competitions such as: Premio Nazionale delle Arti 2004 - Premio Nazionale delle Arti 2005 - Premio Nazionale delle Arti 2006, XVII Edition of the Prize “Lilian Caraian” - 2002, Viva il Jazz - Internazional Contest for Jazz Groups - 2001.

He is jazz guitar teacher at Trieste “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory.

He runs a YouTube channel with more than 6000 subscribers.
